The purpose of our ECU Spacer is to withdraw the ECU heatsink fins from the intake airflow path in the stock airbox, reducing restriction, and improving throttle repsonse. Our spacer is 13.5 milimeters thick, the exact height of the heatsink fins on the Bosch ECU used in the T5 engine. Using a taller spacer will have no performance benefit!

There are a few companies that make these in Europe that sell for around $100+, this spacer was developed by GoVo Engineering with a great deal of input from the C30Crew forum community, because we believe high quality performance parts don't have to cost a fortune! We manufacture our spacers using high quality Makrolon GP Polycarbonate, the same material used to stop bullets! Our kit also includes a rubber gasket to seat the spacer against the ECU for an air-tight seal, preventing fine dust and dirt from entering the intake air path. This is very important as the ECU spacer is installed in a location after the air filter. We have noticed that other ECU spacers on the market do not include this critical feature. If you would like to upgrade your existing spacer, you can purchase a gasket separately as well!

You can expect better throttle response, louder turbo sound, and a small amount of horsepower gain, anywhere from 10-17 horsepower, and even more on a tuned car with greater airflow requirements. Tests have shown that the stock airbox can flow a large amount of air, and many tuned cars producing 350+HP are still using the stock airbox, this ECU Spacer simply makes the stock airbox more efficient!
